Everything you need to know about boiler installations, pricing, and how I work.
A straight combi-to-combi swap typically takes around 2 days. If I'm converting from a system or conventional boiler to a combi — which involves removing the cylinder and cold water tanks — it's usually closer to 5 days. I'll confirm the timescale when I come to survey the job.
Yes. I'll remove and dispose of your old boiler, cylinder, and any redundant pipework as part of the installation. Everything is disposed of responsibly.
I take care to protect your home throughout — dust sheets down, everything cleaned up before I leave. If pipes need to be moved or there's a new flue position, there may be some minor making-good required, but I'll flag this clearly before any work starts.
Yes, although flats can have specific requirements around flue routing and building regulations. Get in touch and I'll let you know what's involved for your property.
I primarily install Baxi boilers, which I've found to be reliable, well-supported, and competitively priced. I offer the Baxi 200, 400, and 800 ranges to suit different budgets. I can discuss other brands on request.
Boiler output is sized based on the number of radiators in your property, the number of bathrooms, and your hot water demand. The quote tool on this site gives a rough estimate, and I'll confirm the correct size during a free survey before any work is agreed.
All Baxi boilers come with a 2-year standard warranty as a minimum. When I register the boiler with Baxi within 30 days of installation, this is extended to a longer promotional warranty at no extra cost to you:
All warranties are manufacturer-backed by Baxi. I handle the registration on your behalf as part of the installation.
Modern condensing boilers operate at over 90% efficiency compared to older models which can be as low as 60–70%. Most customers notice a meaningful reduction in gas bills, though the exact saving depends on your usage habits and property insulation.
You can get a rough estimate using the quote tool on this site. For a confirmed fixed price, I'll arrange a free no-obligation survey — usually within a few days of you getting in touch. I'll assess the job, answer any questions, and give you a written quote before any work is agreed.
No. My quotes are fixed and itemised. If anything unexpected comes up during the survey that would affect the price, I'll tell you upfront before any work starts. There are no day-rate surprises.
I ask for a 50% deposit upfront to cover materials and secure your installation date. The remaining balance is due on completion once you're happy with the work. I accept payment by bank transfer (BACS) or card — whichever is easiest for you.
Yes. I'm fully insured for domestic heating and plumbing work, as well as holding Gas Safe registration (No. 526591).
Gas Safe is the official UK register of qualified gas engineers. By law, anyone working on gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe register. You can check my registration at gassaferegister.co.uk using registration number 526591.
Yes. All installations are carried out to current building regulations and best practice standards. I'll handle all necessary notifications and provide you with the relevant commissioning and handover documentation on completion.
Current regulations require a carbon monoxide alarm to be fitted in any room where a gas appliance is installed. I include this as standard with every installation.
